Adoption Services
AdoptionFamily and Community Services, Inc. Foster Care, Adoption and Counseling Services is a private, non-profit adoption and foster care agency licensed in Ohio and Michigan. We can assist families with state, private, and international adoptions, as well as foster care. We are contracted with the Department of Health and Human Services as a licensed Child Placing Agency to provide adoption services to children and families so that children do not wait any longer than necessary.

Behavioral Health Programs
RecoveryFamily & Community Services’ Behavioral Health Programs offer the most advanced behavioral health treatments for adolescents, adults, and seniors. As a comprehensive service provider, the agency also provides recovery housing and supports for both men and women in Portage County.
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Youth ServicesBig Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, one-to-one mentoring relationships. As the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country.
Center of Hope
FoodThe Amelia DiGirolamo Center of Hope provides hot meals six days a week in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We are dedicated to enhancing the nutrition of low-income families while striving to go the extra mile by serving our guests with love, compassion, and respect by providing the hope and encouragement they need.
Chagrin Falls Park Community Center
Youth ServicesThe Chagrin Falls Park Community Center (CFPCC) was formed in 1954 to serve the low-income community of Chagrin Falls Park, located on the outskirts of Bainbridge, OH. The CFPCC is often thought of as the heart of the community. It provides a wide variety of supportive services to children, families, and seniors in need, such as after-school tutoring, a food pantry, and case management services.
Consumer Credit Counseling Services
Family ServicesConsumer Credit Counseling Services has been in operation in Portage County for over 50 years and consists of financial counselors who have been tested and certified through the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. Your financial counselor will help you take back control and get you on the path to being debt-free
Emerald Transportation
TransportationEmerald Transportation with Family & Community Services, Inc. offers safe, reliable, quality service to ambulatory and non-emergency wheelchair-bound clients. We provide wheelchair transportation to and from many different locations, including physicians’ offices, hospitals, worksites and day programming, private residences without steps, rehabilitation centers, retirement centers, and chemotherapy treatments.
Foster Grandparent Program
Youth ServicesThe Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) recruits individuals 55 and better to volunteer as tutors, mentors, and role models to young people with exceptional and special needs (i.e. learning disabilities, language barriers, or those who are abused or neglected) at schools and community centers. They also help students with socio-emotional development to improve self-confidence, combat bullying, develop social skills, and improve overall mental well-being.
Freedom House
VeteransFreedom House is a 14-bed transitional housing facility for veterans. We strive to improve the quality of life for our veterans, and we do this by providing support through intensive case management and access to community resources dedicated to enhancing self-sufficiency.
