WHO WE ARE

Emerald Transportation with Family and Community Services, Inc. offers safe, reliable, quality service to ambulatory and non emergency wheelchair-bound clients.

WHAT WE DO

We provide wheelchair transportation for individuals to and from:

  • Physicians’ Offices
  • Hospitals
  • Private Residences (no steps)
  • Rehabilitation Centers
  • Retirement Centers (private pay)
  • Chemotherapy Treatments

In the unlikely event that an emergency should occur during transport, Emerald Transportation’s staff are trained in First Aid, CPR and AED to ensure your safety. All of our vehicles are equipped with two-way communications.

RATE SCHEDULE

As every transport is different, we ask that you contact our office to receive current price quotation. Emerald Transportation also offers group rates for special occasions on an individual basis, depending on availability.

CLIENT EXPECTATIONS

Every client should expect dependable, timely, safe transportation, with a courteous driver. Clients in need of a return ride will be given a number to call for pick up. Arrival time for pick up is usually within thirty (30) minutes, unless otherwise informed when calling in.

VEHICLES

Our fleet consists of seven (7) Dodge Grand Caravans with ramps, one high top Ford Econoline, and three (3) full sized vans.

Dodge Caravan Ramp Dimensions:
30” W, 52” L, 56” H, 400 pounds

Ford Econoline Ramp Dimensions:
33” W, 49” L, 57” H, 500 pounds

HOW TO MEASURE A WHEELCHAIR

Measure the widest portion of the wheelchair (including accessories). This is usually the outside of one handrail to the other handrail (outside of wheel).

Measure from the furthest part of the back of the wheelchair (usually the push handles) to the tips of the footrest (usually the toe area). This is to be measured in the position the chair will be transported.

MEDICARE

Medicare does not cover wheelchair or ambulette services at this time.

MEDICAID

Medicaid will cover very limited ambulette services.
