First Congregational Church of Ravenna has made a second $10,000 donation to the Center of Hope, totaling $20,000 over the last year.
The donations have made a significant impact on the center, allowing it to continue meeting the growing demands of the community for food pantry assistance that have resulted from cuts in SNAP benefits and other financial difficulties. The church has also supported the center during its annual Hunger Challenge, as well as periodic donations throughout the year to help with operations and support to the community.
The First Congregational Church of Ravenna and The Center of Hope partner throughout the year as well to fulfill volunteer needs, spread the word about upcoming food drives or events, and share space for distributions and meetings held. The Center of Hope is grateful for the continued support of the church and its dedication to helping fight food insecurity in Portage County.
Each year The Center of Hope serves over 100,000 hot meals and distributes more than 20,000 each year to individuals and families in need from Ravenna and surrounding communities.
