Skeels-Mathews Community Center

The Skeels-Mathews Community Center serves all ages, with a special focus on youth and seniors. The center offers a variety of community programs, including weekly congregate meals, daily home-cooked lunches for seniors, activities for seniors, adult nutrition and computer classes, and holiday dinners and special events.

Solace Center

Solace Center is Trumbull County’s only private, non-profit supervised visitation and safe exchange program. We provide support, guidance, and assistance to families who have experienced some type of trauma, including abuse, neglect, violence, divorce, separation, or custody issues that may cause stress or other difficulties.

Someplace Safe

Someplace Safe is the exclusive provider of comprehensive services, including shelter and advocacy, for anyone experiencing or having experienced domestic violence in Trumbull County. We provide advocacy, education, supportive services, emergency 24-hour crisis intervention, and shelter to aid families.

Summit Veteran Family Services

Summit

Summit Veteran Family Services is a Prevention, Retention, and Contingency (PRC) program helping families overcome immediate barriers to achieving or maintaining self-sufficiency. We assist families in overcoming these barriers through rapid re-housing services, case management, temporary financial assistance, financial support resources, healthcare referrals, and connecting individuals with community resources.

Supportive Services for Veteran Families

Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) provides assistance to low-income veterans and families to help with their housing situation. We have been assisting veteran families since 2013 through case management, referrals, and financial services.

The Phyllis Zumkehr County Clothing Center

The Phyllis Zumkehr County Clothing Center serves individuals and families across Portage County who are in need of clothing or furniture for their homes. There are no restrictions on who can shop here, there is no cost for any of the items, and no one has to demonstrate need.

Unified Resources Recreation

Unified Resources Recreation (URR) provides recreational activities to individuals with disabilities through our teen and adult programs. The goal of this program is to provide recreation, social, and leisure opportunities for teens and adults with developmental disabilities who are eligible to receive services through the Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Valley Counseling Services

Valley Counseling Services has been providing behavioral healthcare to our community for nearly 65 years. In 2010, the program joined Family & Community Services. Valley Counseling is committed to serving all area residents, from children and teens to senior citizens, by offering a wide range of behavioral health services

Veteran’s Haven

Veteran’s Haven meets our mission by providing a wide range of supportive services designed to resolve the immediate crisis of homelessness and promote housing stability among veterans. Our program is designed for low-income veterans and their families.

AmeriCorps VISTA – Volunteers In Service To America – is a national service program that works to eliminate poverty. Members commit to one year of service at a non-profit or government agency to support community efforts to overcome poverty and develop initiatives that enable people to become self-sufficient and secure.
