With rising living costs making it increasingly difficult for families and seniors to make ends meet, this year’s Hope for the Holidays fundraiser, organized by the Center of Hope and Kent Social Services, is more crucial than ever. The annual campaign aims to ensure that no one in the community is left without a warm meal or the joy of a gift during the holiday season.
Last year, thanks to the community’s overwhelming generosity, the organizations provided over 1,770 holiday food boxes and helped brighten the holidays for 700 children. However, with inflation continuing to impact many households, the need has grown significantly, and the support of local residents, businesses, and organizations is essential.
The Hope for the Holidays fundraiser is accepting donations of:
- Non-perishable food items
- New, unwrapped toys
- $15 gift cards to stores like Marc’s, Giant Eagle, and Acme
- $25 gift cards to stores such as Walmart, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Ulta (for children ages 10-13)
Donations are needed by November 15 for Thanksgiving and December 13 for Christmas. Contributions can be dropped off at the Center of Hope or Kent Social Services, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monetary donations are also welcome, with checks made payable to either the Center of Hope or Kent Social Services, noting “Hope for the Holidays” in the memo line, and can be mailed or dropped off at 705 Oakwood Street, Suite 221, Ravenna, OH 44266. Or you can donate online at fcsserves.org/hope.
Together, we can ensure that everyone in our community experiences the warmth and love of the holidays. Thank you for your generosity and continued support.
