Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, one-to-one mentoring relationships. As the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country.
Senior Companion Program
The Senior Companion Program (SCP) recruits individuals 55 and better to volunteer as friends and companions to older adults living independently at home and at community centers. Their support enables older adults to live independently at home for longer periods of time.
Foster Grandparent Program
The Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) recruits individuals 55 and better to volunteer as tutors, mentors, and role models to young people with exceptional and special needs (i.e. learning disabilities, language barriers, or those who are abused or neglected) at schools and community centers. They also help students with socio-emotional development to improve self-confidence, combat bullying, develop social skills, and improve overall mental well-being.
