Portage County Senior Center
Our mission is to provide socialization opportunities for all Portage County senior citizens without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender, national origin, handicap, or ancestry.
The Portage County Senior Center offers social and recreational activities, as well as daily lunches, to all Portage County senior citizens ages 60 and better. Weekly activities include bingo, exercise class, card games, dominoes, art class, and tai chi. We have many special events that happen throughout the year, such as bake sales, holiday parties, potluck dinners, education seminars, and monthly blood pressure and glucose checks. We also provide a variety of other services, such as the distribution of farmer’s market coupons for free locally grown produce. Lunch is served every day, and we always have donuts, coffee, and tea available.

CURRENT NEEDS
Want to help the Portage County Senior Center? Donations or gift cards to local restaurants, bakeries, and grocery stores help us to provide holiday lunches, birthday party celebrations, and special breakfast events to our seniors! We also accept art supplies, games, and books for our seniors to share.

For years, we have participated in the Acme Community Cash Back program. Please save your Acme receipts between August and December 25th and mail them to 705 Oakwood Street in Ravenna. The Portage County Senior Center will receive 5% cashback from each receipt. We do not have enrollment or activity fees and offer services to all seniors regardless of income, so programs like this help us to pay for some of our basic needs.
