]]>For all of Clyde’s hard work and dedication to her students, she received the Friends of Education Award for 2023. This award is given annually to individuals or businesses in the community who have contributed their time or donated to the school.
The Willyard School staff stated that when Clyde showed up to the school, the students were so excited they “instantly became her security detail and made sure she made it safely into the building.” They are very thankful to have Clyde at their school and can’t wait to see her next school year.
An F&CS employee states, “Clyde is truly amazing. She is an FCS treasure.” This award is well deserved. Thank you for all you do, Clyde!

]]>Committed volunteers will participate in online and in-person training covering topics such as trauma-informed approaches, how to handle hotline calls, crisis intervention, and safety planning. After completing the training, volunteers will be eligible to work directly with clients at the shelters.
“People often ask how they can help or want to know ways they can make a difference,” says F&CS Associate Director Anne Face. “Volunteering in our shelters and working directly with survivors is one of the most impactful ways to give back. In my experience, volunteers start volunteering to make a difference in someone else’s life, but in the end, their lives are changed forever for the better.”
In order to be eligible for the training, you must be at least 18 years of age and attend one of the upcoming information sessions on either April 26th or May 3rd.
