Root House

Root House serves as a safe place, founded by Valerie and Mike Root in loving memory of their son, Damian. Damian’s legacy lives on through the compassionate work undertaken at Root House, where individuals find support, and a pathway to healing. At Root House, we understand the complexities of addiction and co-occurring disorders. We offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to the needs of adult males in Portage County who are grappling with moderate to severe alcohol and/or drug use diagnoses, alongside co-occurring disorders. We provide individual, group, family, and couples counseling, ensuring that each person receives personalized care and attention. Additionally, our dedicated team offers case management, peer support, and regular support meetings, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Root House stands out as a Non-Medical Community Residential program, ensuring round-the-clock treatment and care within a safe and nurturing environment. Whether you’re seeking refuge from addiction, navigating co-occurring disorders, or simply in need of a supportive community, Root House is here for you. Together, we’ll walk the path towards healing, honoring Damian’s memory every step of the way.
