The Distribution Committee of GAR Foundation awarded Mobile Meals, a program of Family & Community Services, Inc., $60,000 to fund general operations at its May meeting.
Mobile Meals is a nonprofit organization that provides hot and frozen meals to seniors in Summit, Portage and Cuyahoga counties. The award from GAR will be used to provide meals to home bound seniors in Summit County and assist with congregate meals in Summit County. These home bound clients will also receive a security check, because often times, our delivery staff is the only human contact they receive on a daily basis.
“We are very thankful to receive funding from GAR Foundation. This grant will allow us to continue to feed our seniors and serve those who need it most,” said Mark Frisone, executive director of Family & Community Services, Inc.
