Big Brothers & Sisters has a brand new program in place that will help caring adults engage with the children even with a busy schedule. The Big Buddies program allows caring adults to be matched with a child on the agency’s waiting list who are unable to make a weekly commitment. “This can be a way to introducing volunteers to the program,” said Andrea Neidert, program manager of Big Brothers & Sisters. “We hope to have some Big Buddies become permanent matches for some”. The adults who choose to become a Big Buddy commit to sharing activities at least six times per year. Big Buddies enable adults to take part in Big Brothers & Sisters activities on a limited basis while providing companionship to children on the waiting list.
